Taking one photo for every day of the year.

76/365

I meant to take this for Mardi Gras but I completely forgot. So I tried it today.

EDIT: I fixed the over-brightness with a little burning/dodging. Definitely looks better, at least to me! You can compare it to the previous version here.

  1. I would have to say that perhaps over your right shoulder – yes there seems to be a bit of glare – where was your light source? Great pic, however, and that’s just being nit picky!

    • I thought it looked a little hot on that side but that *might* be a product of the post – trying to get rid of the background. (Makes me wish I had a seemless in my tiny apartment.) I’ll have to take a look at the original image again when I get home.

The light source was a 16×16 softbox w/ Vivitar 383 at 1/16th power, 50mm, f4.0 just above head level at camera left and angled slightly down, probably less than half the distance between me and the camera. And there was a mirrored wall (ok, it was a closet LOL) to my left [camera right].

    • I burned it out a little. It was definitely b/c of the post as the original RAW file is a few stops underexposed.

  2. I know pretty much nothing about photography but I love this picture! Cute mask too!

  3. Regardless… while we may nitpick over burning/dodging, the key point to keep in mind here is that you look great!

    • LOL I was wondering who the random person was that jumped into our conversation!
