Went to a wedding as a guest today. Family friend of nearly 25 years. Congrats to the newlyweds!

Mom’s new obsession is orchids. She’s taken over a whole corner of the kitchen table with them.

Grabbed a moment of peace  in a hectic day/week.

Orange sunrise. It was pretty awesome.

Some of the greatest works are in this collection 🙂 And you can’t even see half of it here.

Ok so I stole some leftover cupcakes…who’s going to miss them?

Easter Bunny cupcakes

Bought myself some flowers since it’s been a while that I’ve had them in my house.

DIY Koozie snoot and my unwilling guinea pig. The snoot has portrait potential – can’t wait for human guinea pigs.

Several mornings this week, it has appeared to be threatening to rain. But each morning, the clouds quickly disperse and the Texas sun comes out and bakes the earth. Texas desperately needs rain. Quit teasing us, sky!!

The eyes of Texas are open you…

I can’t get over the sight I saw this morning on my drive. I kept slowing down to look at it through my sunroof – luckily it was rush hour traffic and we were moving at a snail’s pace anyway. These were taken 7 minutes apart – check out the change in tone! Sadly, this sight didn’t last much longer after this. Thick clouds rolled in and stuck around pretty much all day. But seriously. Look at this:

Essential reading.

On the belief that I should have more–ok any–of my own work displayed, and to test out a company, I ordered a canvas print of a photo I took in Corpus Christi in 2009. Verdict: good color quality, frame seems sturdy, website was really easy and displayed exactly the dimensions that the print would have, fast shipping (1 week start to finish). One quibble is that I have to go buy materials to hang it. The company offered a hanging kit as an add-on but I thought $6 was too much. I’ve got plenty of hanging wire around the house, and walmart carries it cheap if I need more. Now all that’s left is to see how long it holds up.

More food pictures. Best. Wings. Ever.

I sure do love seafood Fridays!  Shrimp Scampi in Garlic Butter Sauce with Lemon Pepper – YUM!

Bored selfie. I was feeling silly 🙂

Lines. Some days have more inspiration than others. This probably counts as “other” 🙂

This is (one of) his get-outta-my-face faces.

The Dipper.

100!! Another milestone! Fiesta is still going on – all week! Taste of New Orleans is one of my favorite events – mostly because of the Gator on a Stick!

It’s Fiesta!!! Went to Oyster Bake. Saw Saving Abel and Hinder perform. Decided to do a montage for today’s picture. Clockwise from top left: carnival prizes, Saving Abel through the camera phone of the girl in from of me, Sheriffs watching over the crowd in the setting sun, carnival rides, sign for fried everything (cheesecake, oreos, snickers, twinkies!!).

Open Road. Back country route from Austin to San Antonio – no traffic, no cops, great stretch.

Gooooooood morning, Austin!
